ATC has designed a modular system of solar/LED lights to replace kerosene lamps. With over 2 billion people living without access to electricity, most lighting their homes with kerosene or candles, ATC has designed a bright lighting system that is less expensive than kerosene.
Guatemalan Kitchen With Kerosene Light
Note: The kerosene lamp in this kitchen (overhead) doesn’t show due to photo flash.
This family reports having enough energy from an ATC 10 watt solar panel to run two lights for 4 hours per night and for 2 hours in the morning. We also installed an outlet in the system to charge cell phones. The cell phone charger saves this family a 90 minute walk to the nearest store.
ATC is now in the process of designing a family of solar lighting products so that customers can buy as much light as they need. Our new system is modular starting with an inexpensive 5 watt system that can grow to 100 watts!
