Hi guys and girls, I'm starting an organisation probably non profit or charity or NGO whatever is appropriate to create community workshops (making things) in the low income/povey areas of the world. We will work wi the locals making repairing whatever is needed.
I'm guessing we may run into similar issues that you are tackling although our focus will be simple manufacturing using waste/recycled materials locally sourced and will start with furnitu and home building.
The scope is huge and I'm looking for all info on what these communities are facing and how people are already solving the issues with them. So there may be potential for a link up between us doing something ??
If you can think of anything useful we can do together or relevant info to share please drop me a line. I aim to have the first workshop running in 1 year. Probably in china because that's where I currently am, but spreading everywhere we are needed.
Great work guys, keep it going, let's make a difference
Deep regards

We have worked in the Ugandan town of Lukaya since 2005 to educate and care for 350 orphans and vulnerable children in a school we have organized called Mustard Seed Academy. One of the central goals of Real Partners Uganda (a 501c3) is to address the root causes of poverty by empowering local people and introducing sustainable technologies to develop, with our Ugandan partners, a self-sustaining learning community that will not only care and educate the children but be a resource for adult learners. We are retired educators who have been involved in educational innovation most of our lives, and your organization looks like one we could partner with in a very productive way. We are at the beginning of a building program to erect a permanent campus and would like to do so with plans for renewable energy, waste and water management, medicinal gardening, and economic opportunities that lead to being self-supporting. If working with us is worth exploring with you, would be glad to have a phone or email exchange in the next 10 days after which we will be in Uganda for a month. We spend 2-3 month per year there working with the leadership of Tree of Life Ministries who run the school and other projects. Contact info is on the website. Thanks for the very exciting work you are doing. Joe
