Another way for cheap third world lighting would be to use the cheap solar powered garden lights that Bunnings etc sell for a few dollars. They charge the batttery each day and run for around six hours in the night. They are self contained and would either have to be direct mounted through a roof, or have the tiny cell mounted externally and the light wire run inside.
